All Keyhole Employee Consultants are paid on an hourly basis. Every single hour that you work you are paid for at your designated hourly rate.
Payroll is administered through Paychex, and pay is direct deposited into the checking or savings account you provide to Keyhole Software.
We pay in arrears to allow time for us to bill clients and process payments in coordination with consulting work.
Actual pay periods are:
1st–15th of the month (paid on the 7th of the following month)
16th–end of the month (paid on the 22nd of the following month)
For example:
Hours worked April 1–15 are paid on May 7
Hours worked April 16–30 are paid on May 22
Hours worked May 1–15 are paid on June 7
…and so on.
Any time you spend assisting Keyhole Software clients is tracked internally. You’ll submit a weekly timesheet to Keyhole, which helps us manage payroll and project tracking.
In addition, some clients may have their own timesheet policies or systems. If so, you’ll be expected to follow both Keyhole’s and the client’s procedures. We’ll make sure you have clear guidance for both.
We understand this model may be new, especially if you're new to consulting. Let's talk it through together.
To keep things simple and accurate, we will talk about your annual compensation target during the interview process. We will set your Keyhole hourly rate to get you to that annual amount, which is reached by working 1,920 hours in a 12-month period (which accounts for time off and holidays).
It depends on when you start. Keyhole operates on a semimonthly payroll schedule, with pay periods running from:
1st–15th of the month (paid on the 7th of the following month)
16th–end of the month (paid on the 22nd of the following month)
For example:
Hours worked April 1–15 are paid on May 7
Hours worked April 16–30 are paid on May 22
Hours worked May 1–15 are paid on June 7
…and so on. If this delay when first beginning employment provides a hardship, please communicate with a member of the operations team to discuss options available to you. We want to help!
We factor time off into your hourly rate. See the Time Off & Vacation page to understand how this works.
Once a year, around the date you started at Keyhole, President Chris Bristow will reach out to schedule your annual employee review. This is a relatively informal, one-on-one conversation reflecting on your performance that year. It's simply a way to check in, keep communication open, and make sure things are going well on both ends.
